Third-Party Certifier SCS Global Services Joins ResponsibleSteel to Advance the Adoption of Sound Sustainability Practices across the Iron and Steel Supply Chain

SCS Global Services announced today that it has joined ResponsibleSteel, the industry’s first global multi-stakeholder standard and certification programme. As a new member, SCS looks forward to bringing its expertise as a global leader in third-party environmental and sustainability certification to bear on the further development of ResponsibleSteel standards and guidance for this important economic sector.

SCS Global Services has a long history of working with the steel industry, including conducting life-cycle assessments for the international and North American iron and steel industry associations, as well as conducting third-party certifications for raw material suppliers in the mining and metals sector and for recycled steel products and processes.

ResponsibleSteel™ is a not-for-profit organization which includes representation from across the steel supply chain, as well as other stakeholder groups and experts. Its approach to standards and certification is oriented to align with the ISEAL Codes of Good Practice.
