Primus Standard Audits offers certification for agricultural products designed for human consumption. The Primus Standard audits cover Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and/or Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). GMP audits may also include an assessment of a Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) system. Audit type applicability depends on the operation being audited.

Primus Standard audits performed by SCS are relevant to the following operation types:

  • Ranch
  • Harvest Crew
  • Greenhouse
  • Packinghouse (with or without HACCP)
  • Storage and Distribution (with or without HACCP)
  • Cooling/Cold Storage (with or without HACCP)
  • Packaging

SCS can walk you through a pre-assessment process. Pre-assessment is a non-scored mock audit designed to assess the level of your preparedness for a certification audit. 

Audit Coverage
In the Primus Standard audit, we will verify your Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as well as adjacent land use, fertilizer usage, water source, pest control, harvesting practices, and food defense for GAP operations. GMP audit topics include pest control, traceability, sanitation, food defense, maintenance, foreign material control, and HACCP.

Complementary Services

SCS Global Services offers GFSI-level food safety certification including GlobalGAP, PrimusGFS, BRC and SQF. Additionally, contact us for expert guidance if your company is interested in establishing a comprehensive HACCP-based Food Safety Management Plan, or a food testing program as validation of an existing management plan.
