Program Manager, Product Climate Verification

Job Overview
Working in a highly technical business, the Program Manager, Product Climate Verification ensures the successful operation and profitability of the program by reviewing and improving systems and processes to optimize program performance, meeting timeline, revenue, and net profit expectations, and identifying growth opportunities. The Program Manager is responsible for rolling out new business areas and maintaining positive working relations with clients, third-party auditors, stakeholders, and other related business partners. The Program Manager also maintains a high level of technical knowledge of the program subject matter. This position is responsible for quality assurance and accreditation requirements, when applicable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Management

  • Forecast program revenue and profitability on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Establish program budget planning and projections through data analysis and regular tracking
  • Oversee program specific pricing strategies with contracts and agreements to meet program revenue and profitability goals
  • Allocate resources to maximize program profitability and a beneficial work/life balance for the team
  • Develop and document procedures to ensure efficient and compliant program operation

Business Development and Strategic Planning

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients
  • Scope and prepare proposals for new projects
  • Identify and develop opportunities to expand services into new markets in cooperation with the sales and marketing teams
  • Coordinate and support international business development efforts
  • Monitor and stay current on program trends, standards, and developments
  • Represent program and promote services at trade shows, conferences, and industry events

Operation Management

  • Manage resources including people resources to optimize productivity and achieve operational goals
  • Provide operational training to staff, auditors, and partner organizations when opportunities arise
  • Collaborate with IT and other internal stakeholders to drive improvements to software/IT platforms and resources and to train users to ensure consistent and efficient use
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOP) to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and maintain quality standards
  • Oversee Objective Key Results (OKR), analyze data, and identify areas for improvement to enhance operational efficiency
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, providing insights on operational performance, challenges, and opportunities
  • Identify potential risks and implement strategies to mitigate them, ensuring operational continuity and compliance with regulations

Quality Management

  • Ensure program compliance with corporate quality system and accreditation, when applicable, through external organizations
  • Ensure consistent interpretation and application of standards
  • Oversee internal and external audit processes in collaboration with stakeholders and ensure nonconformities are resolved
  • Participate in investigation of complaints
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align operations with organizational objectives and drive process improvements
  • Adhere to and enforce all quality and code of conduct standards
  • As necessary, conduct interviews, consult with stakeholders, and write reports for audit projects in order to maintain auditor qualifications

Technical Management

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable protocols and standards
  • Conduct audits in conformance with pertinent protocols as a lead auditor or technical reviewer within established timelines
  • Draft internal guidance and materials to train staff and contractors
  • Conduct training and provide program specific technical oversight

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field and
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in account management, customer relations, or sales and
  • 4+ years of experience involving leading or managing a team
  • Proficient with business software including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Sales CRM systems such as Salesforce
  • Well-developed organizational, project management, and prioritization skills
  • Excellent professional written and verbal communication and negotiation skills
  • Initiative, good judgment, and ability to work independently under pressure in a changing environment
  • Commitment to SCS values and environmental issues

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience and strong knowledge within the environmental sustainability industry, specifically third-party certification, verification, and/or assurance
  • Ability to lead an audit
  • Life Cycle Assessment Certified Professional (LCACP)
  • Certified LCA Reviewer (CLAR)

Working Remotely
SCS is recruiting all open roles to be remote; allowing our employees the ability to work flexibly and allowing SCS as a company to diversify the experience and perspectives of our growing workforce. This is a home-office based role and may include travel with local, domestic, and/or international trips. Details will be clarified during the recruitment process.

Estimated Annual Salary
$99,000.00 - $130,000.00
