Job Overview
The Food Safety Auditor II is responsible for conducting audits in accordance with food safety and quality management systems. Auditors travel to client sites, perform inspections, determine compliance, review corrective actions, and submit their audit reports for review and certification. This is a remote, full-time employee position with SCS.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Audit Services
- Adhere to all quality and code of conduct standards
- Conduct audits using applicable checklists, forms, and tools
- Submit complete and accurate audit reports within established timelines
- Maintain positive client relationships and respond to all client inquiries and concerns in a timely manner
- Conduct technical reviews in the off-season and during down times
- Attend trainings to maintain qualification to conduct audits
- Maintain up to date knowledge of applicable regulations and standards
Audit Administration
- Work with SCS’s Client Services team to accept/confirm audits
- Prepare and send client audit plan according to protocols
- Book travel, hotel, and transportation according to company policy, and submit expense reports in a timely manner
- Collect and review documents as needed as part of the audit process
- Assist with the development and maintenance of program quality documents
- Timely email communication both internally and externally
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Plant Science, Crop and Soil Science, Food Science, Food Technology, or other related scientific areas of study or
- Associate's Degree in a related food science area may also be acceptable and
- 5+ years of industry experience in a practical capacity on a farm or in a technical production management role related to food crops and
- 3+ years of experience conducting GFSI-level food safety audits
- Strong passion for food safety and sustainability
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Highly organized and deadline-driven with superior time management skills
- Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and database systems
- Willing to travel up to 80%, mostly overnight travel throughout the U.S.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Food Hygiene training on water quality, organic fertilizer, personal hygiene, equipment, and other agricultural food safety challenges
- Accredited 16 Hour HACCP training
- Lead Auditor Training
- IPM Pesticide and Fertilizer Training
Preferred Qualifications
- Verbal and written proficiency in Spanish

Working Remotely
SCS is recruiting all open roles to be remote; allowing our employees the ability to work flexibly and allowing SCS as a company to diversify the experience and perspectives of our growing workforce. This is a home-office based role and may include travel with local, domestic, and/or international trips. Details will be clarified during the recruitment process.
Estimated Annual Salary
$61,000 - $80,000
