FSMA Food Traceability Rule (FTR)
This instructor-led course provides a practical overview of the FDA’s Food Traceability Rule (FTR) under 21 CFR Part 1 Subpart S – Requirements for Additional Traceability Records for Certain Foods. Based on the FSPCA FDA-Recognized Core Curriculum, the training supports organizations in understanding regulatory expectations for foods on the FDA Food Traceability List (FTL) and building foundational knowledge related to traceability systems and compliance across the supply chain.
Participants who successfully complete the course receive an official FSPCA certificate.

Learning Objectives:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify foods on the FDA Food Traceability List (FTL) that may be received, transformed, or shipped and require compliance
- Explain the differences between Critical Tracking Events (CTEs), Key Data Elements (KDEs), Food Traceability Codes (FTCs), and Point of Contact requirements
- Recognize data and recordkeeping requirements for FTL foods at each Critical Tracking Event
- Develop a traceability plan, including mapping strategies and assignment of traceability source codes
- Evaluate common implementation scenarios, challenges, and best practices
