SCS Global Services today announced its accreditation to perform audits under the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI) Fiber Sourcing Standard. This standard is a leading, credible certification in North America that governs how SFI-certified organizations procure fiber from non-certified forestland. It is specifically geared toward organizations in the United States and Canada seeking to verify that the wood they purchase from forests, domestically or globally, is legally and responsibly sourced.

The Standard (2015-2019 Standards and Rules®, Section 3 – Fiber Sourcing) includes measures to broaden the practice of biodiversity, use best management practices to protect water quality, provide outreach to landowners, and use the services of forest management and harvesting professionals.
