"Healthy Buildings and Indoor Air Quality: Choosing Materials and Cleaning Supplies to Maintain Green Building Environments"
Sept 24, 2014 | 1:30 - 3:00pm PDT
San Francisco, USA
Contact: Nicole Munoz
The purpose of this roundtable is to identify ways of improving and promoting a healthy living and work space by protecting the quality of indoor air from chemical off-gassing from building materials, furniture, and supplies, and from contaminants that may exist in soils beneath buildings. When redeveloping urban properties, a vapor mitigation system is often designed to prevent intrusion of contaminants from below ground to indoor spaces. One of the complications of testing these systems is the interference from chemicals coming from cleaning supplies, office supplies, and building materials.
The expert panel will share best practices and review the process of tracking air quality, choosing materials, and designing indoor environments that can positively affect occupant’s health, productivity, and overall well-being.
